Andy,  Thank you for your wisdom

I have been busy doing the state validation  for Maryland in my classroom with pictures using  the skills and concepts you provided during our summer session.thank you .

My classroom pictures have that "vision" that captures the children in action...that is missing in the kindergarten pictures taken by others....they did not have the closer...closer...closer..concept
I look forward to your classes which will provide me with the needed skills and vision to capture and invigorate the learning process and excitement of young children. I did not realize the simple concepts that you presented in our summer session, once put into place, made such a difference. Our principal looked at the pictures taken by the' educational person and those I had taken and pulled hers and replaced them with mine....... and had me redo some of those she had taken since hers had missed the children's  "spirit". These  are the little thank you's to you that makes my life as a teacher in PG County a positive and sanity saving plus.

Keep up your  positive and supportive spirit that makes taking pictures that "zing"  that makes memories history.

Andy D'Angelo is a seasoned professional instructor and educator who has helped all ages of aspiring and confused photographers better understand their "Black Box", decipher the foreign language of their dreaded Camera Manual and just get great shots. Here is a sampling of the comments they have made.

A Thank You Letter from a student:

"Hi Andy,

Actually, I think it (the Photo Safari) went REALLY well. I learned quite a lot and I didn't feel like you lacked in explaining anything. I think that you fully explained everything that you covered. I liked that you showed us both ends of the spectrum (so to speak). Most of us have limited funds and will only ever be hobby photographers but it was nice to know that even with amateur equipment you can take great shots - I think you gave us the knowledge of how to do with what we had but also what could be done with professional equipment like yours.

.....You gave us goals as to what shots to take (backlit, full light, shade, etc), you explained and demonstrated each setup, you provided some tips and tricks on how to get the best shot based on the subject matter and even the settings we should use on our cameras. I think I learned a great deal. I don't think the shots I took are perfect by any means, but because of how much I learned I feel entirely comfortable continuing to try on my own and allowing the experience earned to produce the better shots in the long run.

Rachel"

"I think you gave us a lot of information, encouraged us to practice (with the assignments), showed us some great examples (step-by-step, detailed explanations) and did an awesome job of covering the various tools and functions. It's a lot to cover in 5 weeks, but we really learned a lot of information. I think your presentation style, enthusiasm, down-to-earth personality, and sense of humor are great teaching techniques! "

"Professional & knowledgable, I greatly appreciated the assignments and Andy's constructive comments on our work"

"I especially liked the way he addresses all the questions, no matter how small or silly they seemed"

"I really enjoyed the Macro seminar at the Reading Museum.  I have taken pictures of flowers for years and just hoped for a good picture.  Now I have the skills to take really great pictures. I personally learn things easier when I am shown how to do something with my own camera and where I can practice immediately.  I am looking forward to taking some more seminars.  Tina G "

Andy:

Thank you for a great Photoshop class.  I liked learning how to repair and enhance photos and make composites.  The class was the right mix of demonstration and practice.  You answered our questions about our photos and always gave us good advice on how to make them better.  It is evident that you have a lot of knowledge about photography.

I want to thank you for re-energizing me about photography.  From the time I was in middle school, I wanted to be a photographer and I sometimes regret not doing it.  I stopped working with photos as I progressed as a teacher and administrator and forgot how much I liked it.  I am thinking that I may want to pick it up again and maybe make it into more than a hobby.

Thanks!, Barb
