Business Related Seminars:

Some topics and photo applications may be geared toward specific business related photography, photography used in a business application or photography designed as part of a product sold to third party clients. Examples might be taking pictures for your employer for brochures, marketing, advertising or web use, even though you are not considered a professional photographer or shooting sports, activities, portraits, events and weddings for any type of compensation. As such these photography applications are generating someone income and presented differently than our normal classes which are designed to enlighten photo enthusiasts. Our Business Related Seminars are designed to meet your specific needs and answer questions relevant to your shooting assignments. I encourage the student to compile a list of questions prior to attending the seminar so I might tailor the material to your specific needs. Scheduled at a mutually convenient time. E-Mail me for additional information or to set up these seminars.

Starting A Photo Business; Getting Started on the Right Track

If you are even think about practicing photography as a professional, charge anything for your services or prints or have already started a small at home business, then this seminar is a MUST !

~ do your realize you COULD be sued and loose your house because someone tripped in your "home" studio? Or if the images your produced at their wedding or party did not turn out? Or if you use ANY of those adorable shots to promote your self...even on Facebook? Or if your computer crashes and the clients shots are lost in hyperspace?
~ do you have a PA Sales Tax number? No? ...why not, you must charge tax on all sales... but you already know that.
~ Have you bought some bargain deal camera equipment, only to find out it does not work for your application?
We will cover the legal aspects of providing a photographic service, who owns the images, copyright and allowing someone else to just "have the shots". Additionally, we will discuss the basic photographers toolbox; those items that are essential (lenses, flashes and other lighting equipment, backgrounds, props), as well as the "I would like to have" these items. How to gain experience producing images, being comfortable with the equipment and set up, communicating with the client, resolving issues and concerns, and what constitutes a great shot.
This Seminar will be offered as an ongoing event and scheduled at a mutual convenient time.

Offered as a private lesson or consulting for business related applications. $125.00 (tax deductible) plus PA Sales Tax

Making The Jump; Purchasing new equipment.

Starting with my experience in actually producing images for business and consumer clients and using various types of photo gear, and then factoring in YOUR specific needs, I will do the market research, sift through the equipment specifications and recommend gear that will suit your application. The benefit of this service is an enormous savings in time and money for you. Often the sales literature is incomplete, if not misleading and nowhere does the manufacture talk about practical use of their product for your application. This often results in a purchase that is simply not going to function as you expected, under the conditions you shoot. This service does not include training, nor instruction of the use of the purchased items, although that option can be included in a seminar package.

Offered as a private lesson or consulting for business related applications.....$35.00 / hour

Typical fees:

Camera, hot shoe mounted flash, auxiliary lenses, ...$40.00+ ... this service is typically FREE if you have enrolled in ANY of our other seminars!
Props, backgrounds, supports ...$35.00+ Included with any Lighting Seminar
Lights & Lighting, light meters and auxiliary lighting related equipment ... $70-95.00+ Included with any Lighting Seminar

This service will be offered as an ongoing event and scheduled at a mutually convenient time.
